The Fourth was a great day! We started the day with a delicious breakfast provided by Diana and Josh and headed with the whole family to Eager for the parade. The parade was so much fun. They threw so much candy, otter pops, blow up balls, flags, and more candy! Benton was in heaven...after his dad stepped in to help ward off the bigger kids and allow Benton to join the fun. He did get a little nervous at the loud sounds from some of the huge semi's in the parade. He loved seeing the horses, as did Emmie, which she called "doggies"...we're working on distinguishing between animal names. After the parade we headed over to Great Aunt Patti's (Grandma Cooley's Sister) and had a yummy BBQ outside under her beautiful cherry trees. Benton loved her antique doll house, and Emmie loved to run like crazy. After some rest for the kids back at the cabin and ice cream for Mommy and Daddy we had a horse shoe tournament. It was couples and unfortunately Adam was stuck with me! I wasn't much help as I never really played and throw like an off-balanced pregnant woman (at least I could use a legitimate excuse this time!) Another BBQ followed by roasting mellows and drinking hot cocoa (believe it or not it was cold!) Benton and Emmie had a blast chasing their cousins around and riding in wheel barrows. They found the sand in the horse shoe pit to be especially enticing. Benton also enjoyed a showing of "Bolt" with his cousins. When the sun finally set we headed out towards Eager for the firework spectacular. We stopped on the side of the road and set up our chairs. Emmie fell asleep in the car and enjoyed the show vicariously through the rest of us. Benton talked non-stop through the entire 30 min. presentation saying things like "No touch fire works. They're dangerous." "What you saying?" "Beautiful!" and "Look at that one!" Needless to say he loved it. We had such a great weekend with our family and really enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was great to see everyone and we can't thank Grandma and Grandpa Cooley enough for putting it all together and providing the cabins! I love the Fourth of July and celebrating with family in a small town is the only way to go!

that sounds like some good family time. it's the best when a few of your kids dreams come true. we are so excited to have Emmie in nursery, she is such a sweetheart and i know she will get use to it soon.
Sounds like you guys had a fantastic time. My husband is from the Eager area and we have never been to their famous parade. Your family is as cute as ever and you look adorable.
