Christmas Eve

We had a fun and magical Christmas Eve...one of the best ever! We decided to spend the time together with just our small family and to begin making our own special traditions. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and relaxing morning. Adam and the kids got the luminaries ready for later and played out in the front. Our neighbor came over and brought a big box of oranges and some treats for the kids. Early evening we had our special Christmas Eve family dinner (steak, potatoes, crab mmmm!) Afterwards the kids opened their special Christmas Eve package. Inside there were pj's, the movie "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", popcorn and treats. We watched the movie together, ate treats, and had delicious hot cocoa with peppermint. We had the kids dress up, even daddy, and we read the story of our Savior's birth. The kids were so sweet while acting it out. Emmie was such a loving Mary, holding the baby Jesus and stroking him. Mae was an adorable angel. So very sweet. They were so reverent and contemplative. We lit the luminaries and enjoyed the view. The kids new Santa would be able to find our house for sure! Just before bed we read some Christmas stories and then it was time to dream of sugar plums. We had such a wonderful evening together~
