Bearizona

The first thing we did in Flagstaff was head to Bearizona. It was sprinkling, but we started off on the car tour. All of the kids unbuckled and pasted themselves to the windows to see all of the animals. Emerson sat on my lap and touched everything he could. The wolves and bears were the favorites, but all of the animals were neat to see. Many came up to the car and stared at us. We were instructed to keep the windows up for good reason! We listed to a narration on the radio as we drove through the various sections.

After the car tour we headed to the walking tour. We saw many more animals. Favorites were porcupines, more bears, otters (which we fed fish to), and the badger. There was even a little petting area with goats and chickens which Emerson loved chasing around. We watched a predator bird show and had large birds fly right over our heads! It was pretty neat, but cut short because it started to pour. That meant time for the gift shop where it was nice and dry. We picked out some small souvenirs and headed back to the hotel to rest and check in. That evening we went to a tepenayki restaurant where we had a little food and a show. The kids thought it was pretty cool, but Mae was scared of the fire portions of the presentation. They were very well behaved and it was lots of fun! We fell asleep quickly after all of that fun and fresh air.
