Christmas Time Is Here!

Christmas Eve we went to McCormick Park and rode the train and the carousel. It was so much fun and Benton loved every minute! They had all kinds of decorations and Christmas lights (not turned on for us), but it looked like a really neat thing to see next year! We went to the Cooleys for our Christmas Eve dinner and had some delicous ribs and fixin's. We read the Christmas story together and felt the spirit of Christ as we celebrated the spirit of Christmas. Benton and Emmie opened their Christmas pjs and anxiously awaited Santa's arrival in their beds at home. Benton woke up at 7:30 in the morning and we had to wake Emmie up. We changed diapers in the bedroom and told them we had a surprise for them. Benton exclaimed, "Santa, presents!" He was thrilled to see the gifts under the tree and loved opening them, and helping his sister open hers. He was really excited about his McQueen RC car and a play house we have yet to set up. We had so much fun eating our traditional gingerbread waffles and playing with our new toys. It's so exciting to see the magic in the eyes of your children! Later that day we went to Great Grandparent Cooleys and Grandparent Cooleys. We opened gifts, ate delicious food, and enjoyed great company. We ended the day at home with more play, food, and laughter. It was a Christmas to remember...and how special to celebrate with children.
