The big celebration took place Saturday the 3rd. We headed over the the city park for lots of festivities. The kids took a horse ride and while Benton was a little nervous and had a young boy join him, Emmie was fearless and LOVED the ride. She wanted to go again and again. They both had their faces painted too. We "won" some pet frogs (which were given away a week after we got home). We ate lunch in the shaded grass and enjoyed watching the kids do races, and a talent show performances including Michael Jackson impersonator. It was so much fun to be a part of the small town activities. The night we sat in the grass near the Temple and watched the fireworks. They were aweseom and the kids were amazed. Before the show began they bided their time by running around the grass and playing with some glow bracelets. We had a fabulous time! I am so greatful for this Country and the freedoms we have because it is a blessed land!
