Because we will be in Philmont on Lyndie's big first birthday, we decided to have a little celebration on the Fourth of July since we will all be together. We started the day by having a delicious Independence Day breakfast at the Gilbert's Farm in Tempe. After we had been eating and playing for awhile it started to rain and continued for about 2 hours or more! The rain was desperately needed and the kids loved it. The ran around and got soaked. Lyndie even sat in the waterfall streaming from the patio roof. She loves to get wet. Later we swam at the Francois' home. Lyndie was a little nervous about being in the big pool, but quickly warmed up to the idea because her daddy was holding her. We BBQ'd and gave Lyndie a cupcake to celebrate the occasion. She dug right in fist first, grabbed a handful and shoved it into her mouth. She devoured that cupcake and left a trail of crumbs in her wake. She is not walking yet, but will scoot along the furniture and has even switched from one object to the next by letting go and standing briefly. She only says nonsense words and Mama, and Dada. She has quite a bit of hair and looks so cute and petite. She is such a joy in our lives and we are so grateful to have her be a part of our family for eternity!
