Phoenix Temple

After work, we headed up to Phoenix to see the new Temple before being dedicated. It was a long drive and we arrived late, about 5:40pm at the parking area by Wet and Wild. We loaded the buses and headed to the Temple where we awaited the sister missionaries and Sister Mulligan and her grandson (investigators). We waited for awhile and they finally joined us for the introductory movie. It was really neat to see the Phoenix area depicted, it's faithful members, and it's growth. We walked through the Temple, felt the peace, and enjoyed our beautiful surroundings. It was gorgeous and peaceful. Although small, it felt large because we wrapped around it in so many different way. The kids were especially enthralled with the beauty and peace of the celestial room. They could feel that this room would bring them nearer to heaven. Afterwards we headed to Culver's for a very late dinner and treat. We returned home around 10 pm and were exhausted, but spiritually fed. In my life I have seen the Snowflake, Gila Valley, Gilbert and now the Phoenix Temple open houses and dedications. It has been a privilege to see the growth of the church in Arizona and to associate with such amazing Saints. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is rolling forth and expanding. This is an amazing time to be alive. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by so many Temples.
