Welcome Emmie Marie!

Our newest addition, Emmie Marie was born February 1st at 3:32 pm via cesarean section. She weighed 8 lbs 10 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. Her big brother adores her and loves to give her hugs, kisses, and help gives her a binky when he's not stealing it. Mommy is doing well and is trying to adjust to having one child in each arm! We are all so happy and proud and feel blessed to have a sweet little girl join our family. We love her so much already!
Emmie, February 4th was our first day home with you! We went into the hospital on Friday the 1st at 1pm after dropping Benton off at Grandma and Grandpa Francois'. We checked in and signed papers. We talked about how excited we were and how we were almost a family of four. At about 2:30 a nurse took us back and prepared me for surgery. WE walked into the OR just about 3 and walked right by Grandma and Grandpa Francois, Brandon, Jackie, and Brig. Daddy gave Benton hugs and joined me in surgery. THey gave me a spinal and set everything up then daddy came in. He watched the surgery and held my hand and told me how great I'm doing. He was so excited to see Emmie. He took lots of pictures and watched as they cleaned her up. THe first thing I noticed was she looked so much like Benton! Emmie and Daddy went off to teh nursery and the doctor's stiched me up and took me to the recovery room. By the time we left the hospital she was 8 lbs 0 oz. Adam brought Emmie to the recovery room where I held her for the first time. She was beautiful. We were wheeled to room 102 and visited by Grandparents Francois, Brandon, Jaclyn, Brig, Grandma Cooley, Diana , MArk, and big brother Benton. Benton gave her lots of kisses and mind melds. He snuggled me, but was a little nervous about my IV. Other visitors on Saturday were Kristyn, Janelle and Kevin, Barbara, Grandparents Cooley, Brandon, Jackie, Grandparent's Francois, and Benton boy. Adam and I really enjoyed our alone time with Emmie too. Daddy was sure busting buttons!




We came home Sunday at about 4 pm and celebrated Brandon's birthday at the Francois. It was nice to be at our home that night in our beds. Emmie sleeps pretty good, eating about every 3 1/2-5hrs. She only cries when she has gas or we're changing her diaper. She cries a little when she's hungry too. She is beautiful and we all lover her so much already! She is very alert and loves to look around-especially at her mommy. She is also pretty strong and holds her head up well. She's my baby girl!
