Manti Part One

My mom and siblings wanted to spend a few weeks in Manti, UT enjoying the weather and people and asked if the kids and I would like to go as well. We decided to spend a week there, and fortunately Adam had a couple of vacation days to use so he came for a few days as well. We arrived Friday the 19th and spent the afternoon outside enjoying the weather, and riding my parents newest baby-an ATV!! We had a blast! That night we treked a whole two blocks to the Temple to eat the delicious fried foods and take in the Manti Mormon Miracle Pageant held there every June. It was fantastic! It basically recounts Joseph's life, excerpts from the Book of Mormon, and a few scenes following Joseph's life regarding the pioneers and especially the settling of the Sanpete Valley. It was very well done with over 900 actors/actresses and huge props. Benton especially enjoyed seeing Samuel the Lamanite, Jesus, and the angel on top of the Temple. From that day on he continued to ask or tell us about the angels at the Temple. Saturday we relaxed and enjoyed the area. Sunday - Father's Day - we attended church where Benton and Emmie both enjoyed nursery for a portion of the time. Emmie and I joined in the fun after battling most of church. The block of meetings ended with Benton accidently knocking Emmie over and Emmie with a bright red face wagging a finger and him and yelling "Benti!!!". It was a spiritually uplifting day. After a yummy steak dinner we enjoyed the outdoors, opened a few small gifts (which Adam basically picked out) and even lit a few small fireworks...hey if Walmart is selling them already they better believe we're going to be lighting them! Thanks to our husbands and dads for being to wonderful and letting us celebrate all of their good qualities one day a year (after all it only takes one day....just kidding I love you guys so much!)
