Easter Egg Hunt

We went to an Easter "festival" as Benton called it. Grandma and Grandpa Cooley joined us her in Maricopa for the event. There were many inflatables, carnival games, and an egg hunt. The kids had a great time finding eggs, Mae dug right into the hay. They especially loved the inflatables. Mae did a little jumping, but Benton and Emmie were fearless, trying out ever slide and obstacle course. They even got to pet a variety of farm animals and see a fire truck first hand. Benton especially love the fire engine and meeting some real fire fighters! Mae loved petting the animals. Emmie loved her pa. Afterwards we came home and colored eggs together. We tried some tie dye and some regular techniques. We then practiced hiding them and finding them in the front yard. The kids hid them, and then found them. They thought it was fantastic!
Earlier that week we spent an evening at the Easter Pageant. We picked up some Taco Bell to go with the other food we brought and got to the Temple at about six. We ate and played go fish, a new favorite game. The kids were enthralled by the retelling of the last week of Christ's life. Benton and Emmie soaked it all in, and asked questions during the production. Emmie asked me if it was real, I told her these were actors, but the story of Christ was very real. Mae even watched most of it, but got a little distracted from time to time. She loved to narrate to me what was happening. They all loved the ending when Christ was lifted up to Heaven, Mae was flabbergasted! It was a very special evening to remember our Savior and the true meaning of Easter. I am so glad I was able to share that with my family. I know that my Savior lives!
